woot! no school yesterday! state jazz fest all the way in millinocket! :D was loads of fun!.. except for the long bus rides. learnt a lot of new card games though! :D sat with megan on the bus t milinocket. and watched hercules! and janaye kept singing. people were playing apples to apples.. i didn't feel like playing. then when hercules was over, we watched star wars episode one!
when we finally reached stearns highschool mr skeffington wasn't even there yet. so we had t continue waitting in that bus as we watched other coach buses and school buses come. while waitting everyone was indirectly paying attention t star wars. and when umm.. that other dood died.. the partner of obiwan.. we were like,
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! and then when the black/red faced man died, were like.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!! and people were looking at their phones for reception and sam was like..
there's a tower! when there's a tower you know you're in hickville!then mr skeff finally came. and he told us not t do what one former student did..
t ask, is do they have running water? lol. and we got off and brought in our instruments and clancy was like,
are we in canada??.. because it was so much colder than in sopo. after we got everything needed into our homeroom went down t the cafeteria and bought a pear and sat with janaye, kat, jen and sam chatto. and sam, kat and jen were playing cribbage and that is one of the many games i learnt how t play that day. while i watching them play, trying t learn how t play, two girls from falmouth came t sit with us as they knew jamie. and they taught us the rape cheer! which i forgot but i will try t recall..

then we went up back t our homeroom and everyone was watching.. THE PRICE IS RIGHT! hahaha.. and then i saw cape walking by. thought i saw amory.. but amory has blonde hair and this dood was red headed. he also kinda looks like ron in harrypotter..
when the priceisright was over, combo had t warm up. so everyone had t carry stuff. then when they were done with the warm up, had t carry it t th auditorium. and there were no more stuff t carry left over for and laura so we went t the auditorium t watch combo. they were amazing! and albie's scat! the stupid mic though. kept going on and off. when combo was done. we all went up the stage t take our stuff off. and there's this rule that everyone had t get past this white line off the stage within a certain amount of time, if not we'd be disqualified. and i didn't know of that rule!.. fortunetely i did go across though.. phew.
back in the homeroom it was very boring. so kat, jen and i decided t go down where i would play my very first game of cribbage! :D that game is super fun okay! and passes a lot of time! :D half way through laura came down and sat with us. she told us that something about how one of the staff members from the jazz fest was flipped off by someone from our jazz band. then we were all thinking.. no one in band would ever dare t give anyone the finger during any band competition because we all know that mr skeffington would kill us.. jen, kat and i were so glad we weren't up there, but instead, playing cribbage! (: anyway, we paused our cribbage game and went t get stuff t eat. and laura went t buy a pickle.. A HUGE PICKLE.. that made me think dirty thoughts.. heh.
then we continued playing cribbage AND I WON! :D MY FIRST GAME AND I WON!! :D :D
ben came over and then we played another card game learned from laura called knockers... which made everyone think dirty thoughts.. hahaha. and we saw mr legard! and he came over asking what game we were playing.. apparentely he didn't hear the title because if did he wouldn't have so readily grabbed a chair and come over. then in the middle of the game sam chatto came over and asked what game it was we were playing and then mr legard realized what the title was. and when it was over he didn't want t play. haha so we played another game from ben.. called secret. forgot how t play.. anyway, the next game egyptian something. anyway, that game was so super fun and super long.. more than an hour!
to play, first you equally give out the cards in the deck and then you try t get as many cards as possible from the other players. and you put down one card.. oh and you can't look t your cards.. just put down. so just go around and put one card at a time. then if your previous player placed a jack in the pile, you have one trial t place another face card if not that player gets the pile of cards. if its a queen 2 trials, a king is 3 and an ace is four. then if there's doubles from the previous player or a previous card.. you must chope it first before anyone does!.. although kat didn't use the term chope but SLAM. and that's the painful part of the game.. but very fun one! :D
after playing.. went up and looked at vendors selling instruments and books. and kat and jen being trombone players tried out this really cool trombone that they said was amazing.. but laura and i not being trombone players don't know what is the amazing thing.. just that it looks very shiny. (: and i learned that the clarinet has the most parts of all the instruments and so it is out of my list of instruments t play. until i learn t be a faster person.
then went back t the homeroom, where everyone was quiet due t the scene earlier where the flipped off staff said it was too loud..
finally came time for us t warm up and perform. the stage lights were so bright and super hot that they made me become ery nervous that i was going t squeak so i didn't play as loud as i was supposed t.. ): hope we win!
after playing, was picture taking and the camera flashes of millions of lights just kept going..

so bright that everyone doubted their eyes were open in any of the shots.
then we had t hurry before the snowstorm in south portland got worse. janaye was so freaked out and panicked that the bus was going t swirve and run into trees that mr skeff. let her stay the night with the jazz ensemble people. dood, i wish i could stay over too.. then i could watch them play and would be millinocket right with them.. not really scared whether the bus was going t crash.. the ride home was boring. the gladiator was playing but no one really cared. hah. slept a little.
and that's about my day yesterday. cheerio!
